To the person in charge,
Hello. My name is （自分の名前をローマ字で）. First, thank you very much for your great support for Japan and Japanese people. We appreciate your help and efforts for us but please allow us for asking even more help.
As you know, we're having a difficult time here in Japan. And now, the area around the Fukushima nuclear plant is sealed off and we can't get in. But there are still many animals left in the area.
Local people used to live there left their houses without knowing they couldn't come home again. Many people didn't realize that and left their pets at home. Some people tried to take their pets with them but Japanese government didn't allow them to do so. People had no choice but left their pets within the dangerous zone without humans to care for.
Many cats and small dogs were left in their houses without food or drink. Others were left outside on their leashes. Most of them have already starved to death. Some of the cats even ate each other, but died at the end. Animals those escaped from their leashes or enclosures are still alive with a very slim chance of surviving. No humans means no food to scavenge.
Although some Japanese animal rescue groups had been rescuing those animals around the Fukushima plant, recently Japanese government suddenly decided to close off the area. No one apart from the military and workers at the plant can get in now.
Even worse, the government announced to kill those weakened farm animals, and others to put back into their enclosures, which means they have to starve to death.
We've been asking the government to let the animal rescue groups to help those animals but they kept ignoring our voice.
We had a further announcement from the government the other day. They say evacuated locals can go home for a few hours with Japan Self-Defense Forces but people are not allowed to take their animals out of the area.
This is a mass animal cruelty.
We've tried everything we could but every time, the government made our efforts difficult to continue. We're running out of time and animals are starving to death at this moment. As we, the civilians, are not allowed to get into the no-go zone, could you please step in to rescue the animals if you could spare some time? Or could you please ask Japanese government to change their policy? We can't do it without help. We're asking for your great support one more time.
Thank you for reading and we'd be grateful if you could help us.
